Fun is an indie pop band which formed in New York City, New York, United States in 2008. The band consists of Nate Ruess (vocals), Andrew Dost (keyboard, bass) and Jack Antonoff (guitar, trumpet). Ruess is a former member of The Format, Andrew Dost is a former member of Anathallo and Jack Antonoff is a member of Steel Train. The band also includes touring members Nate Harold (bass), Emily Moore (keyboards, guitar) and Will Noon (drums).

The band has released two albums: Aim and Ignite (2009) and Some Nights (2012). Their single We Are Young (featuring Janelle Monáe) peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #2 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart.

On September 14, 2010 fun. released a deluxe version of “Aim & Ignite” in both Canada and America which included the original 12 tracks, as well as two remixes by R.A.C, music videos, and a newly recorded song called Stitch Me Up.

Some Nights is the second studio album from American alternative rock/indie pop band Fun. It was released on February 21, 2012 through Fueled by Ramen. It was recorded in 2011 and produced by Jeff Bhasker. After signing to a new label, the band began to work on Some Nights for over nine months throughout 2011.

“We Are Young” was released as the lead single from the album and bolstered the band to mainstream success with the aid of television and advertising. It topped the US Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks and Alternative Songs for two weeks, with over three million digital downloads. The title track was commissioned as the second single and has reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, as well as becoming their second No. 1 on Alternative Songs. The album has received positive reviews according to Metacritic.
